【摘要】:Diametralcompressionstrengthisanimportantmeasureofthemechanicalpropertiesofcastingmaterials.Thistestmethodsimulatestheloadingpatternseeninlowerextremitycastingapplicationsduringambulation.Thistestmethodcannotbeusedtodeterminecastlifeormeasurebendingorothermodesofcastfailure.Thistestmethodmeasuresbutdoesnotprescribevalues.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthefunctionaldiametralcompressionstrengthofcylindricaltestspecimensformedfromsyntheticfiberglasspolyurethanecastingmaterials.Thetestspecimensemployedinthistestmethodaresimilaringeometryandconstructiontocastsusedinorthopaedicapplications.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtodeterminethestrengthofthebasematerialsusedforfabricationofthetestspecimen.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin.
