【摘要】:Thispracticeisapplicabletonon-chromatecoatingsthatarecolorless,colored,electrochemicallyappliedornon-electrochemicallyapplied.Thezincorcadmium,orboth,maybeelectrodeposited,mechanicallydeposited,hot-dipped,rolled,orintheformofcastings.Becauseofvariablesinherentinthesalt-spraytestwhichmaydifferfromonetestcabinettoanother,interpretationoftestresultsforcompliancewithexpectedperformanceshouldbespecifiedbythepurchaser.Propertiessuchasthickness,color,luster,andabilitytoprovidegoodpaintadhesionarenotcoveredinthispractice,norarethechemicalcompositionandthemethodofapplicationofthesefinishes.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforevaluatingtheprotectivevalueofchemicalandelectrochemicalconversioncoatingsproducedbynon-chromate(chromatebeingdefinedasacompoundthathaschromiumintheplussixoxidationstate,andassuch,chromiumcompoundsinotheroxidationstates,suchasplusthree,shallnotbeexcluded)treatmentsofzincandcadmiumsurfaces.1.2Theprotectivevalueofanon-chromatecoatingisusuallydeterminedbysalt-spraytestandbydeterminingwhetherornotthecoatingpossessesadequateabrasionresistancewhenappliedforthatpurpose.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
